There are 6 bolts that secure the Savage cylinder head to the cylinder. Four of them extend up from the crankcase and are secured by nuts on the cylinder head, which are torqued to 21-24 ft.lbs.
The other 2 are in the recesses between the cylinder and head at the front and rear of the cylinder. These nuts are torqued to 16-19 ft. lbs.
I am proud to say that I am the oldest rider on the Forum, at age 65! I will be 66 on July 11.
(people tell me I only look 50, which is nice to hear!)
